Japanese Breakfast for Dinner with Ketchup – Omu Rice

This is a weird one. Ketchup and Eggs just doesn’t register with me. Then it dawned on me…do the Japanese have their version of IHop, Denny’s, The Waffle House, breakfast haunts? That’s something I got to look up. How did I get here? We were all over the board with leftovers and other items we… Continue reading Japanese Breakfast for Dinner with Ketchup – Omu Rice

This Steak Plate Rocked…Even with a Flan.

The hardest of Rockers would dig this Steak and Broccoli Flan combination. It was Stellar! The Green Steak Sauce was the biggest freaker going into the dinner. This recipe is not precise…everything is in handfuls or portions of a bunch. A bit philosophical compared to what I’m used to. Then I realized to relax. No… Continue reading This Steak Plate Rocked…Even with a Flan.

Sorry Marcella and Yotam…

We just wouldn’t do these two recipes again. To be fair, we were looking to use some stuff in the fridge so we didn’t put much thought into cohesion until we were past the point of no return. Put steaks on a pan… Continue reading Baked Steaks With Shallot and Red Wine Sauce.

Chicken Sauce – Red Wine and Red Currant Jelly.

Five stars all the way.  We will be doing this one again, again, and again. We grilled the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt and pepper. The sauce needs to be knocked out about an hour in advance to reduce. Stellar sauce. Eurodelcies: Dine with Europe’s Master Chefs – Meat and Poultry.

We’ve been striking out with the past few recipes.

Unfortunately not in the good way. I’ve been torn on whether to document some of the blunders and realize I’m doing the right thing by not letting them see the light of day again, or at least by my doing. Some have been OK, others very disappointing. I suppose we are getting accustomed to some… Continue reading We’ve been striking out with the past few recipes.

Broiled Shrimp with Garlic Butter and Angel Hair Pasta

This turned out to be a fun and easy build your own shrimp and pasta dish. It’s a great quick weeknight dish that can also be used as an app for a party.  I used clam juice for the fish stock.  My oven required 6 minutes under the broiler though. Yep, I have a finicky… Continue reading Broiled Shrimp with Garlic Butter and Angel Hair Pasta
